Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan and Jay Aston – formerly of BUCKS FIZZ and winners of the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest will appear at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon on Wednesday 12th December in the Ultimate Christmas Party. The full theatre show will also feature one of Europe’s top ABBA tribute acts ‘ABA QUEENS’.
If you like Bucks Fizz and Abba – this is quite simply going to be one night not to be missed! In a special ‘One night only’ Christmas show you can expect to dance in the aisles to classic Christmas songs and all the hits which made these groups two of the biggest in the 80’s including: My Camera Never Lies, The Land of Make Believe, Making Your Mind Up, New Beginning, Peace of the Action, Dancing Queen. Mama Mia, Happy New Year, Does Your Mother Know, The Winner Takes It All, Waterloo – to name but a few.
It’s been quite a year for the former stars of BUCKS FIZZ - a new name (they now perform as OBF), a new look and the first album in 20 years ‘FAME & FORTUNE”. BUCKS FIZZ won the Eurovision Song Contest for Britain in 1981 with the shirt ripping iconic ‘Making Your Mind Up’. The trio went onto become one of the top groups of the 80’s selling over 15m records worldwide and spending over 150 weeks in the charts with a string of number 1 hits.
ABA QUEENS perform all Abba's well-known hits including 'Dancing Queen', 'The Winner Takes It All', 'Waterloo', 'Mamma Mia', 'Voulez-Vous' and many, many more. The show features numerous costume changes and stunning choreography and is both interactive and entertaining - they even adopt Swedish accents for the evening!
BUCKS FIZZ has performed many times at the Fairfield Halls as the band has a huge following in the area. This will be the first time Cheryl, Mike and Jay will perform here under their new name of OBF.
